The story of Beddio begins with Carlos Montenegro in 1975, who began his career in the mattress industry at the tender age of 17. Over four decades on and Carlos is still an important part of the business alongside Wilmer Rueda, a long-standing family friend of Carlos who also worked in the mattress industry for over 30 years. From logistics and shipping to manufacturing - there isn’t much that the wonderful Wilmer doesn’t know about mattresses.
Joanna Rueda, Wilmer’s daughter, has been immersed in the world of mattresses from childhood. Now, as a Finance and Entrepreneurship graduate from Rutgers University, Joanna combines her lifelong knowledge of the mattress industry, with a proven understanding of what it takes to not only build a successful ecommerce business but build a brand that speaks to the hearts and minds of its customers.
